TWH348-Vice President JD Vance Delivers Remarks in Brownsville TX - The White House

Vice President JD Vance steps onto the scorching ground of Brownsville, Texas, to unveil a new shipbuilding facility that he declares a rebirth of the American dream. He credits President of the United States for the leadership that has revived domestic manufacturing, and he thanks OMB Director Russ Vogt and Governor Greg Abbott for making the project possible. Vance paints the shipyard as a bold statement that American workers, not overseas factories, will supply the tools—ships, drones, missiles—that keep U.S. service members safe.He shares a personal moment, describing his nine‑year‑old son Ewan’s fascination with the United States Marine Corps and how the new yard will give future generations “the tools they need to win the mission and come home safely.” Vance highlights the economic impact: 10,000 direct jobs and a ripple effect that contributes to a reported 90,000‑job surge across manufacturing, construction, technology, health care and services. He frames the project as a bipartisan triumph, noting Governor Abbott’s partnership regardless of party, and positions the shipyard as a national‑security asset that will roll ships off the line for the Marine Corps and Navy. The episode captures Vance’s pride, his call for renewed pride in American industry, and his promise that the Brownsville facility will stand as a champion for both Texas workers and the nation’s defense. Listeners hear a vivid blend of personal anecdote, economic data, and a rallying cry for home‑grown innovation.
