BOGBS433-Erie Family Shooting and ShotSpotter Response - Boots on The Ground With Brian Shank

Brian Shank opens the show with a stark reminder that control is an illusion, then pivots to the heartbreaking tragedy that unfolded just hours north of Erie. Nine members of a single family were found dead in a home, including a pregnant woman, Angelina Stone, her unborn child, two children on the autism spectrum, and several other relatives. Shank repeatedly praises the Erie Police Department and its new chief, emphasizing that officers followed protocol, arrived before the 911 call thanks to ShotSpotter, and secured the scene with professionalism. He uses the incident to defend ShotSpotter technology, arguing that while it didn’t change the outcome this time, it could save lives in the future. The host interweaves raw emotion with political rallying. He urges listeners to reflect on community unity, condemns finger‑pointing, and calls for an end to hateful rhetoric. Shank then shifts to voter outreach, urging listeners to fill out ballots, criticize the Republican candidate Bob for alleged lies and cheating, and share a pre‑packaged voter registration kit he handed to a passerby. He highlights local figures Stacy Garrity and Jason Ritchie, promising to bring them to the governor’s house in Harrisburg.Throughout the episode, Shank’s tone remains bold and unapologetic. He lauds first responders, offers a prayer for the victims, and insists that the community must learn from this senseless violence. The episode closes with a call to stay safe, keep voting, and support the Erie police as they continue to protect the public.
