The Little Drummer Boy
The 1968 claymation movie The Little Drummer Boy tells the story of a poor young boy named Aaron, who is an orphan living in the desert with his donkey. Aaron has a deep love for music, but his life is filled with hardship and loss. One day, he is invited to the stable where the newborn Jesus lies. Along the way, Aaron is bitter and upset due to his difficult life, especially after the death of his parents.
When Aaron arrives at the manger, he is initially reluctant to offer anything, feeling he has nothing of value. However, after seeing the baby Jesus, he decides to play his drum for him, offering the only gift he can. As he plays, he feels a deep sense of peace and connection. The baby Jesus smiles at him, and this moment of grace transforms Aaron’s heart.
The film highlights themes of love, humility, and the power of giving from the heart, showing that even the smallest and simplest of gifts can have great meaning.
