SOA05- The Declaration of Independence- The Story of America
“The Greatest Political Document in Human History.”
Long before the Constitution, before the United States had a name, there was an idea—born from the laws of nature and of nature’s God. The Declaration of Independence was not just a list of grievances against a king. It was a moral statement about what a nation should be for. It declared that no one is born to rule another, that all are created equal, and that governments exist only by the consent of the governed.
It spoke of justice, representation, and the sacred rights endowed by our Creator. And it charged a small group of men to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to defend those truths.
It is more than parchment. It is the final cause of America—the reason we exist as a people.
This is the story of the Declaration of Independence: its meaning, its structure, and the timeless promise it made to the world.
