Rinsing leaders often fins themselves in a conundrum. One the one hand, they have skills, prowess, agility, ability and the energy to take on every monumental task they can come up with. On the other hand, they often lack the seasoning, experience, failure and recovery needed to navigate, negotiation and nurture. I remember early in my leadership journey demanding a certain standard of others in whom I had not invested. I expected their passion and willpower to match mine. I also expected my limited understanding to be offset by my vigor and drive. It didn’t always go to plan, as you can imagine.
