He dissects the key characteristics that define these deceptive leaders, drawing from scripture to equip listeners with the tools necessary for discernment. With vivid examples of contemporary misleading ministries, Hibbs highlights the peril of twisting God’s Word for personal gain. He warns against the smooth, oily words that often mask underlying motivations of financial exploitation and self-glorification. With references to the teachings of Paul and Peter, Hibbs serves a wake-up call to the church, urging believers to scrutinize the fruit of those who claim to preach the gospel. The conversation culminates in a candid reflection on the pervasive nature of deception in today’s religious landscape, reminding listeners that the simplest yet most profound form of discernment comes from knowing the Word of God.
