LF50-Pastor RESPONDS to Talarico and the Identity Theft of Jesus - Live Free with Josh Howerton

Josh Howerton pulls no punches as he exposes a new battlefield where false teachers have abandoned the pulpit for the political arena. He warns that a covert strategy—moving deceptive voices into politics—allows them to evade traditional Christian opposition. Using the viral James Tallarico interview with Jimmy Kimmel as a case study, Howerton shows how a single video, already amassing millions of views, is baiting unsuspecting believers into a distorted gospel. The episode dives deep into the claim that Jesus himself is the greatest victim of identity theft, citing 2 Corinthians 11:3‑4 to illustrate how modern influencers repurpose Christ’s name for partisan agendas. Howerton contrasts this with biblical truth, highlighting Jesus’ teachings on marriage, gender, the sanctity of life, and the biblical mandate to “contend for the faith.” He challenges listeners to reject the false choice between being a “Christian conservative” or a “conservative Christian,” insisting that Christ must always come first.Beyond theology, Howerton turns the discussion into a call to action. He reveals a startling projection: 9.5 million Texas Christians may forget to vote in the upcoming midterms, a race that could be decided by fewer than 300,000 ballots. To combat this, he launches a grassroots “Vote‑text” campaign (text VOTE to 20411) that provides registration reminders and a secure, data‑free voting‑info site for all 50 states. The goal is clear—mobilize the faithful to defend their inheritance in the public square.Lakepointe Church’s mission shines through as the episode wraps with an invitation to join the Live Free Nation movement, support the ministry, and help spread the message that true Christian engagement is unapologetically bold, rooted in Scripture, and essential for preserving America’s future.
